Not There Yet

Excitment, sadness, curiousity, nervousness and thankful are just some of the feelings coming to mind this morning as I sit in our vacation rental on Saint Simons Island.

We moved in on Wednesday and have now spent two nights (out of 10) here. Hubby has gone to work and of course, I can't sleep. So, I have decided to start a blog for all of our travels. Facebook is great, but you just can't type very much in your status :) And I know we are going to have so much to share with everyone.

Tomorrow begins our "Island Vacation" and we will be heading out on our BIG adventure June 4. This past week has been a whirlwind of moving and packing. We had to pack for storage first. Then we had to decide what we will need immediately in Singapore. The last shipment was for all of our furniture and things for a new house, when we find one. Whew!!! It all had my mind spinning and spinning.

The next week here should bring some much needed rest and relaxation. Pool, beach, maybe some bike rides, and just enjoying our last days with friends.

Bella is adjusting well. She loves "Mommy new car" (the mini van we are renting) and our "Beach house". We have very generous friends that have loaned us some toys and books for her and she has made herself quite at home.

We leave for Singapore on June 4 at 11:00 from Jacksonville, FL and arrive in Singapore on June 6th at 1:00am. That's 1:00pm on June 5th (Eastern Time in the US) and for all of you doing calculations, that is about 22 hours on a plane with a two year old!!! We fly from Jacksonville to Atlanta, Atlanta to Tokoyo (14 hours) and from Tokoyo to Singapore (7 hours). One would think I would be nervous about moving to a new country, but I am most nervous about the plane ride.

We ask for all of our friends to pray for safe travels and we promise to keep you all posted on our adventures.

  1. I can't wait to read all about your adventures! And yes, I would be most nervous/anxious about just getting there, too! I've found that as long as you "roll with it", things just work out perfect for some reason. It's like one of my friends said "there are no mistakes in life". Have fun!!! I love you and I'll be thinking about you and awaiting your next post [with photos!!] ~ ♥
